Caught red handed..

We went and picked cherries on a farm in Payette. Payette is about 1 hour from Meridian.
It's quiet, it's peaceful, it's a refreshing change of pace and scenery. We loved it and had so much fun!
 Cherry Pickin...

First, we went to Uncle Jonathan & Auntie Melissa's new house where the girls got a fresh piece of homemade cherry pie. YUM!
Actually, the girls didn't like it.
But, I did.
And. So. Did. Henry.
When we had our backs turned, Mr. I-know-how-to-crawl-now,  crawled up to a plate and ate a large piece of cherry pie.
HE ATE THE WHOLE PIECE!
wow...and we caught him...
 RED HANDED.

Here is the gang before the cherry pickin on Aunite Melissa's family farm. Such a sweet family. They instantly helped with the kids and treated them as if they were their own grandchildren. It was so nice.
I love meeting kind people like that.

And.. we began to pick and eat.

 And pick and eat.

And climb a ladder to pick and eat.

And try to STAY on the ladder while picking and eating.

Occasionally, we would sit and eat.

Or just give the bucket to Uncle J so he could pick for us while we ate.

Even Henry got to pick and eat.
(Of course we had to take each cherry out of his mouth, de-seed it, then give him the cherry back.)
But, he was a good sport and didn't mind.
(Now my picture editing... Before I posted these, I started to play with my Lightroom Editing software. This pic looks like it was taken in the 70's. I love that look. Looks like my childhood pictures.)

And help others pick and eat.

And watch others pick and eat.

Then, it was time for TODDLER run time
She took off and ran through the apple orchards and I had fun taking pictures!

She ran.

 And ran.
(70's look again, LOVE IT!)

And paused for a moment to call  in reinforcements.

And they ran.

 And ran.

And then they made a U-Turn and ran back as the 5 yr old yells, "LET'S RACE!"
Guess who wins?

It's ok, sweetie. She was way in front of you when she said that. Don't worry.

Henry wanted to join in, but he still needs help walking.

Then we saw the tractors.....

But the gang was getting tired by now and their bellies were full of cherries.
So, no smile for the "cute pic of the kids on the tractor."
Darn.
Oh well.
We had a wonderful time and love it.

We came home and Nick made cherry pie.
This time the lady behind the camera ate the large piece left on the plate.
5 year old caught me... red handed.
