A Touch of Sun

This weekend was wonderful weather!
Here is my daughter playing with what she thinks are flowers.
It was so spontaneous and of course she stopped the second she saw me with the camera.
"MOM, COME O-VUH HERE AND HELP ME COUNT DA FLOW-UHS."

I Heart Faces A TOUCH OF SUN Contest. :)

THANK YOU!

Caught red handed..

We went and picked cherries on a farm in Payette. Payette is about 1 hour from Meridian.
It's quiet, it's peaceful, it's a refreshing change of pace and scenery. We loved it and had so much fun!
 Cherry Pickin...

First, we went to Uncle Jonathan & Auntie Melissa's new house where the girls got a fresh piece of homemade cherry pie. YUM!
Actually, the girls didn't like it.
But, I did.
And. So. Did. Henry.
When we had our backs turned, Mr. I-know-how-to-crawl-now,  crawled up to a plate and ate a large piece of cherry pie.
HE ATE THE WHOLE PIECE!
wow...and we caught him...
 RED HANDED.

Here is the gang before the cherry pickin on Aunite Melissa's family farm. Such a sweet family. They instantly helped with the kids and treated them as if they were their own grandchildren. It was so nice.
I love meeting kind people like that.

And.. we began to pick and eat.

 And pick and eat.

And climb a ladder to pick and eat.

And try to STAY on the ladder while picking and eating.

Occasionally, we would sit and eat.

Or just give the bucket to Uncle J so he could pick for us while we ate.

Even Henry got to pick and eat.
(Of course we had to take each cherry out of his mouth, de-seed it, then give him the cherry back.)
But, he was a good sport and didn't mind.
(Now my picture editing... Before I posted these, I started to play with my Lightroom Editing software. This pic looks like it was taken in the 70's. I love that look. Looks like my childhood pictures.)

And help others pick and eat.

And watch others pick and eat.

Then, it was time for TODDLER run time
She took off and ran through the apple orchards and I had fun taking pictures!

She ran.

 And ran.
(70's look again, LOVE IT!)

And paused for a moment to call  in reinforcements.

And they ran.

 And ran.

And then they made a U-Turn and ran back as the 5 yr old yells, "LET'S RACE!"
Guess who wins?

It's ok, sweetie. She was way in front of you when she said that. Don't worry.

Henry wanted to join in, but he still needs help walking.

Then we saw the tractors.....

But the gang was getting tired by now and their bellies were full of cherries.
So, no smile for the "cute pic of the kids on the tractor."
Darn.
Oh well.
We had a wonderful time and love it.

We came home and Nick made cherry pie.
This time the lady behind the camera ate the large piece left on the plate.
5 year old caught me... red handed.

Red, White and Blue

This is what the 4th of July is all about.... kids running around with ketchup and chocolate stained faces and clothes. Running around, laughing, throwing grass, playing tag, swimming and fireworks. Yeah, I could have edited the food off her face, but what fun would that be.

I captured this and this is the way it was, pure childhood-ish-ness.
(And in reality, I am just learning LR & CS5, so I really wouldn't know how to do it anyway. he he. )

Whimsy I heart Faces

Whimsy
This little pixie was caught in my backyard.
Luckily, I moved fast enough to get a picture of her!
What a beauty.

Baths, BBQs, Fairies and Lightning

Here are some sweet (as in.. sugar love sweet, not Off the HOOK SWEET)  shots from Father's Day weekend. I am just practicing using my 50mm lens and getting the feel for how it works... and of course practicing photography in general... Here are some of my latest victims.

Father's Day Weekend and daddy took up to the grill.

"Hey, who want's to help me shuck the corn?" said the Little Red Hen
I will Momma!
And so, she DID. And she LOVED it!

And she was good!

Next, time to practice walking out to help dad with the grill.
Look Mommy, just like Daddy, wearing an Aloha shirt and walking like a big boy!
Good job, Lil Bug!

I'm a big boy, BBQing with Daddy

And then it was time to rest and play with Sam.

That night, the little ones took a bath in the sink.
 Together.
And got along! Or should I say the toddler was nice to Lil Guy.
It was a great Father's Day!
This looks like a pic from a movie. Ha...
I'm working on my exposure and light. I think it will help once I start using Photoshop.

On to yesterday! Yesterday was a funny day! I
was practicing, again, with my exposures and shutter speeds indoors.
Very tricky and hard with little kids moving so fast.

Hi BUG!
Hi Momma.

What 'cha doing?
Mrsmmsmsmf.
What?

I said PLAYING BALL WITH SIS.
Hey Sis, get that Barbie away from my ball.

I said GET HIM AWAY. OR ELSE..

Or else, I'll eat him for LUNCH!!

See what happens when you mess with my ball?! You boy band Barbie!

Meanwhile.....
A nude fairy was spotted in our backyard.

 Pinch, Pinch wittle bunzies!

After the kids went to bed, a HUGE storm came. The thunder shook the whole house. I have never heard thunder that loud before. WOW! It woke up my little nude fairy. She was very scared until Daddy and I took her outside to see the storm.
Never shot a pic of lightning before. It was very tricky.
I couldn't figure out the right combination of shutter speed and aperture. So I got lucky a few times.
Apparently, it is very difficult to shoot lightning. Yeah, it is! (I Googled it.)
Wow. It was awesome.
And she wasn't scared after we took her outside to watch it. She liked it.

And just for fun... a really old and random picture of my old cat Shmida drinking out of his favorite water bowl and a picture of him cuddling with Za Ween. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Let's hear it for the Boyz- I heart faces

Father's Day weekend!
A weekend of fun in the sun.

We were all playing in the backyard. Lil Guy was playing with Daddy's boots.
Sam was hot & tired after chasing the ball.
Sam plopped down next to Lil Guy to give him a sniff and a kiss.
I got this picture.
